MEP Hannes Heide on music for European unity

At EUphoria 2025, our annual musical celebration, we had a chat with MEP Hannes Heide on the role of music in defending artistic freedom and fostering European unity.

Hanned Heide (AT) shared his views on the importance of this kind of events gathering politicians, cultural workers and researchers, to promote the power of live music.

He also raised attention about the role of artists to stimulate freedom of expression in the context of a European Union which is under pressure, from inside and outside. 

We finished this chat reflecting about how funding is a key element for projects such as Liveurope, so they can benefit to more people and raise awareness for the support for emerging artists.
